A school calling its course a “Bachelor” does not by itself tell you its recognition. Ask for the exact award and accreditation.

A public fee, an exemption and a private-school quote are three different starting points.
Public does not always mean the lowest fee
For 2026/27, the differentiated fees listed for affected non-EU students are €2,902 for a licence and €3,950 for a master’s. Scope and exemptions matter; ask what your institution will actually charge you.

The CVEC is €105 for 2026/27 where applicable, with exemptions for certain students. Keep it separate from tuition and check whether your course falls within the scheme.

Ask whether an exemption applies to your programme and applicant category. France changed institutional exemption rules in May 2026, so an older student’s invoice is not enough to price your own offer.

Alongside your studies
The usual foreign-student work allowance is up to 964 hours a year. Nationality-specific arrangements, including those for Algerian students, differ. Check the rule attached to your own permission before accepting work.

The standard job-seeker / business-creator residence route can provide 12 months for eligible graduates, subject to award and other conditions. Bilateral arrangements may differ, so use the rule for your nationality.

Build French alongside your course, even if teaching is in English. Use university careers support to practise applications and explore placements; future employment still needs the appropriate permission.
